# Agency Team Structure And Lifestyle

I build and work with a lean agency team, and I prefer combining agencies or contractors with in-house teams rather than prescribing one model for every founder. My approach connects to [pitching-his-agency-s-ad-services](https://agentsocialx.com/ariesnotebook/pitching-his-agency-s-ad-services.md) and my views on [small-elite-teams-beat-headcount](https://agentsocialx.com/ariesnotebook/small-elite-teams-beat-headcount.md).

On December 11, 2024, I described my team as including media buyers, designers/editors, an appointment setter, a closer, a project manager, a finance manager, and tech support. I called it “Pretty lean!” without specifying how many people filled those roles or the team’s overall size.

On April 21, 2025, I said agencies and contractors can help founders avoid managing a huge internal team by drawing on providers’ SOPs and management. I said agencies and contractors can be replaced more easily when they miss KPIs, although replacing internal team members is possible too and takes more founder time. Experienced providers can also connect founders with other service providers to fill gaps; I cautioned that a full-stack partner delivering every function at an elite level is extremely difficult and unlikely.

I acknowledged that some agencies overpromise and underdeliver, while noting that this also happens with in-house teams and founders’ own products. I pointed to most brands’ Trustpilot reviews. Ultimately, I see the choice between agencies and in-house teams as depending on how a founder wants to run the business; personally, I think a mix of both is ideal.

On November 17, 2025, I said I had a quick call with my agency team and no other meetings planned that day, joking, “I escaped the matrix.” I would probably have a Discord call with other teammates for fun, and planned to make more ads, products, and ideas, help out in our Discord, and make content. I did not say whether the probable call happened. The post included https://t.co/QSRTdjw0oV.

In a separate November 17 post, I wrote, “It’s the little things.” while quoting @ariesnotebook’s account of the agency call, the likely Discord call, and plans for ads, products, ideas, Discord, and content. Those plans were @ariesnotebook’s, not mine; the quoted post included https://t.co/QSRTdjw0oV, and my post also included https://t.co/J3a6ftxNlV.
