# Hiring

Hire deliberately, not defensively.

I noted that this recruitment effort is independent of any collaboration with Dilbert.

I am not with Dilbert.

I use the Mahabharata myth as a lens for hiring, contrasting deliberate Pandava‑style recruitment with defensive Kaurava‑style over‑hiring.

> Pandu and Kunti “recruit” the Pandavas with intention.

> Each son is born through a deliberate choice of deva, each with a distinct capability: governance, strength, strategy, specialist skills.

> Dhritarashtra and Gandhari “recruit” the Kauravas in haste.

> Driven by comparison and anger, they push for 100 sons at any cost.

> 100 mediocre hires do more harm than 5 thoughtful ones.

I decided to adopt a deliberate hiring framework, focusing on capability gaps, complementary skill portfolios, impact‑oriented KPIs, and leader mindfulness checks before major hiring pushes.

Separately, I posted a call for a single marketing professional at CloudRaft, describing the role as a “one man army” and inviting applications via talent@cloudraft.io.

> We need the marketing guy.

> One man army!
