Sales Profitability Analytics Dashboard

From github.com

I built the Sales-Profitability-Analytics-Dashboard, an Excel project on my GitHub, to explore sales performance and profitability across time, markets, products, customers, and sales channels. I started it in 2026-10 and last updated it in 2026-10. The workbook is Sales Excel project.xlsx; my GitHub profile also lists this project among my analytics repositories in github profile.

The dashboard brings together Total Revenue, Gross Profit, Gross Profit Margin, and Total Units Sold, with visual summaries of sales performance. Total Revenue measures overall sales value; Gross Profit measures profit after the cost of goods sold; Gross Profit Margin measures gross profit as a percentage of revenue; and Total Units Sold measures the volume of products sold.

  • My PivotTable Analysis view includes monthly revenue and gross profit summaries with country and regional breakdowns.
  • The README lists Microsoft Excel, Excel Tables and structured references, PivotTables and PivotCharts, formulas and lookup functions, conditional formatting and data bars, KPI reporting, and data visualization.

The README provides no actual sales values, KPI figures, rankings, or verified business conclusions. It says to add actual workbook values and conclusions before publishing findings. Questions for further analysis include which month has the highest revenue, which product category contributes the most revenue, how regions differ in revenue and profitability, which customer types contribute the most revenue and units, which sales channel has the highest revenue, and which countries or regions have stronger gross profit margins.

The README's recommendations are conditional on verified workbook results: prioritize high-performing product categories and sales channels; investigate regions with lower revenue or profitability; monitor monthly trends for sales planning; compare customer segments for growth opportunities; and track gross profit margin alongside revenue when evaluating performance. My stated learnings include building KPI-based dashboards, summarizing data with PivotTables, applying aggregation and lookup formulas, comparing sales and profitability metrics, and presenting performance through charts and reports.

  • The listed aggregation functions are SUM, SUMIF, SUMIFS, and AVERAGEIFS; counting functions are COUNTIF and COUNTIFS; logical functions are IF and IFERROR; lookup functions are XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and INDEX-MATCH; and date functions are MONTH and YEAR.
  • The README also lists MAX, monthly performance comparisons, revenue and profitability analysis, KPI summaries, PivotTables, charts, and dashboard design. I should retain only functions I have actually used or practiced and can explain during an interview; the README does not establish which ones meet that condition.
  • My Sales Data Analyzer presents country-level sales and profit metrics alongside regional and monthly summaries.
  • I use the workbook to examine revenue, gross profit and margin; monthly performance; country and regional comparisons; product categories; customer types; sales channels; and units sold.
