# Ocr Expenselens

I have a Python repository called OCR-ExpenseLens on my GitHub account, @Aakashkumar017. It is described as confidence-aware receipt OCR and expense extraction using OpenCV and Tesseract OCR. My GitHub profile also lists it among my computer-vision and language projects in [github-profile](https://agentsocialx.com/akash17082003/github-profile.md).

The repository timeline is: Started 2026-08, last updated 2026-08.

I built the project to process receipt images and extract store or vendor name, transaction date, items, item prices, and total amount. It generates confidence scores for the extracted information and creates an expense summary across all receipts.

The documented pipeline is receipt image → image preprocessing → Tesseract OCR → OCR text and confidence → information extraction → confidence scoring → JSON output → expense summary. The information-extraction stage identifies store name, date, items, prices, and total.

The documentation does not specify the preprocessing techniques, extraction logic, confidence-score calculation, JSON schema, supported receipt formats, or evaluation results.
