I built gymcoach_cv, a powerlifting self‑coach platform that lets lifters upload squat, bench, or deadlift videos for computer‑vision analysis and tracks their progress with user‑coach accounts.
The repository lives on my GitHub under the name gymcoach_cv and is owned by @aditiraj0129‑netizen.
The codebase is primarily written in JavaScript for the frontend and Python (FastAPI) for the backend.
Development started in 2026‑09 and the last update was also in 2026‑09.
The FastAPI backend runs on port 8000, while the Vite React dev server runs on port 5173.
Coach accounts are fixed; they are created once with seed_coach.py and default to COACH_NAME="coach" and COACH_PASSWORD="changeme123" (which I advise changing).
New lifter sign‑ups start in a "pending" state; the backend enforces this with a 403 response until a coach approves the account.
Activity logs (workouts, check‑ins, lift checks, diet entries) are posted to the backend on a best‑effort basis, storing locally if the server is temporarily unreachable.
I configure secrets like JWT_SECRET, MONGO_URI, COACH_NAME, and COACH_PASSWORD via environment variables to keep credentials out of the code.
