# Taskflow

I built TaskFlow as a JavaScript full-stack task-management application in the MERN stack for personal or team use. Its README presents it as an enterprise-practices-oriented project created for the Frontend Developer Intern Assignment at PrimeTrade.

My TaskFlow repository was started 2026-01, last updated 2026-01.

TaskFlow is described as A modern, secure task management application built with the MERN stack; enterprise-grade development practices with a clean, responsive UI and robust backend architecture.

My TaskFlow features include JWT-based auth with bcrypt password hashing; task CRUD; search and status filtering; dashboard statistics and progress tracking; client and server-side Zod validation.

My TaskFlow technology stack is React 19, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Zustand, React Hook Form, Zod, Axios; Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Mongoose, JWT, bcryptjs, CORS.

The README also describes a mobile-first interface with drawer navigation, touch-optimized controls, animations, dashboard progress tracking, and loading and error feedback. It says the app uses Zustand state persistence, accessible forms, and modular components.

The README claims responsive support across 375px - 1920px+ and 60fps smooth animations with no layout shift.

My documented local development URLs are http://localhost:5173; http://localhost:5000.

The documented prerequisites are Node.js (v18+) and MongoDB, local or MongoDB Atlas.

```
My local backend environment example is PORT=5000; MONGO_URI=mongodb://localhost:27017/taskflow; JWT_SECRET=your_super_secret_jwt_key_here; NODE_ENV=development.
```

My secret-handling instruction is: Add .env to .gitignore - never commit secrets.

For development, I install dependencies in server/ and client/ separately, run npm run dev in each, and can run the frontend build and lint scripts. The README documents local MongoDB on port 27017 and backend port 5000. It also describes local MongoDB or Atlas configuration.

My documented API endpoints are POST /api/auth/register; POST /api/auth/login; PUT /api/auth/profile; GET /api/tasks; POST /api/tasks; PUT /api/tasks/:id; DELETE /api/tasks/:id.

The README recommends importing TaskFlow_Postman_Collection.json into Postman, setting BASE_URL to http://localhost:5000, registering or logging in to obtain a JWT, and sending the token in the Authorization header for other requests. It gives curl examples for registering John Doe and creating a pending task.

The repository is organized into client/ for the React app and server/ for the Express app. The client includes layout and UI components, views, services, store, and utilities; the server includes controllers, models, routes, middleware, and configuration. The root includes a Postman collection, README, and .gitignore.

My documented security and quality practices are password hashing with bcryptjs; JWT token-based authentication; input sanitization and validation; CORS configuration; error handling middleware; environment-based configuration; ESLint; modular component architecture; separation of concerns; clean, documented code.

My production scaling recommendations are Nginx/AWS ALB load balancing; Redis caching; database indexing; rate limiting; CDN deployment; code splitting; service workers; bundle optimization; Sentry; Core Web Vitals monitoring; CI/CD; health checks.

The README presents these production items as a strategy, not as deployed infrastructure. It provides no deployment details, benchmark methodology, test coverage, or evidence for its performance and security claims. It links to RESPONSIVE_IMPROVEMENTS.md, MOBILE_TESTING_GUIDE.md, and QUICK_REFERENCE.md, whose contents are not included here. The repository URL is unspecified; the clone command uses <your-repo-url>.

I host the TaskFlow repository on @AdityaBansal-code's GitHub.

My TaskFlow interface uses custom shadow effects, with professional transitions and drawer effects.

My TaskFlow mobile buttons are visible on tap, with hover effects for desktop.

My TaskFlow frontend uses React 19 with hooks and concurrent features, and Axios with interceptors.

My TaskFlow documented local MongoDB setup uses `mongod` on port 27017; the README also offers a free MongoDB Atlas cluster as a cloud option.

My TaskFlow MongoDB Atlas connection string example is `mongodb+srv://username:password@cluster.mongodb.net/taskflow`.

My TaskFlow Postman testing procedure is to import `TaskFlow_Postman_Collection.json`, set `BASE_URL` to `http://localhost:5000`, register or log in for a JWT, add it to the `Authorization` header for other requests, and test the endpoints.

My TaskFlow README's registration curl example creates John Doe with `john@example.com` and `password123`.

My TaskFlow README's task-creation curl example creates a pending task titled `Complete project` with description `Finish the TaskFlow app`, using a bearer token.

My TaskFlow server layout includes `server.js` for Express setup, `config/` for database connection in `db.js`, and `.env` marked as not in Git.

My TaskFlow environment-variable documentation lists `PORT` with default `5000`, `MONGO_URI` as required, `JWT_SECRET` as required, and `NODE_ENV` with default `development`.

My TaskFlow README describes state persistence with Zustand and optimized bundle size with Vite.

My TaskFlow README links to `RESPONSIVE_IMPROVEMENTS.md` for technical implementation details, `MOBILE_TESTING_GUIDE.md` for mobile-device testing procedures, and `QUICK_REFERENCE.md` for responsive-feature lookup.
