X October 2026 Posts Part4 Animal Earth Marketing

From x.com/aakashgupta

On 2026‑10‑22 I posted a rapid‑fire X thread that tied together three unrelated but data‑rich topics: dopamine‑driven reward contrast in horses, how little of the Earth’s radius has been drilled and what seismic waves reveal about the inner core, and Nathan Fielder’s experimental marketing stunt that led to a TV episode.

A horse can spend up to 16 hours a day chewing hay, pretty much its entire life.

Grass hay is only about 5 to 11 % sugar.

Pulling the water out of a banana leaves it close to half sugar, i.e. about 50 %.

We’ve drilled about a fifth of 1 % of the way to the center of the Earth.

At the center of the Earth is a solid ball about 1,200 kilometers in radius, sitting in a sea of liquid iron and nickel.

He made six fake posters for his show, each with a different motivational slogan, and put them up around LA for a week to see which ones would get vandalized.

Four came back clean, including “tie shoes for safety” and “every penny counts.”

The two that got hit were “dream big” and “stand up to the big guys.”

This was episode 2, back in March 2013, on a Comedy Central show whose premiere pulled 354,000 viewers.
